How to Embed Documents in the Wiki so they can be viewed

Any document that can be "printed" from an application like Word, Outlook, Excel, or even the browser can easily be embeded in the wiki. This will allow you to display documents that are normally only viewable from a link, and then still require a specific ActiveX plugin specific to the document being viewed. Further, Flashprint gives you some handy controls (like zoom) that make viewing these documents quite easy. Simply follow these simple steps:
  • Ensure that you have Flashpaper installed on your computer. If you don't have Flashpaper then go to adobe and download a free trial.
  • Create your Flashpaper version of the document and upload it to the wiki.
  • The image is now stored at the following address
  • Now click the Embed Media button. The embed source will be the following:
<embed src="/space/showimage/RemoteControlComparison.swf"
    quality="high" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" width="680" height="450"
    name="RemoteControlComparison.swf" align=""
    pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
  • Adjust the width and height pixel values to accommodate the file you are viewing. 850 x 1100 is a good size for most full page documents
